7. Isaiah Ford – Virginia Tech

If there’s a player that doesn’t get enough recognition in the country, it’s Isaiah Ford. Frank Beamer ran an old school style of offense at Virginia Tech, which meant receivers didn’t put up huge numbers. However, Ford became the first player in the history of the program to go over 1,000 yards on a season. He also set the program’s record for receptions with 75.

Think about how many great teams that the Hokies had under Beamer and the fantastic talent that has come out of the program. Now, consider the fact that there is going to be a philosophical change under new head coach Justin Fuente. This is where it bodes well for Ford.

At Memphis, Fuente liked to floor it with his offense and put points up on the board. That means that Ford is now going to have a chance to put up even bigger numbers and really have the chance to show the world just how good he is. If he was able to have fantastic output already, it should be exciting to consider what he might be able to do now.

A lot of eyes are going to be on what Fuente can do with the Hokies. He has big shoes to fill with Beamer leaving. If he’s smart, he’s going to make sure that his team finds a way to get Ford the football.
