Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek will be rocking a hilarious Family Guy goalie mask during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Players are getting excited for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. The preseason tournament is happening for the first time since 2004. One of the goaltenders representing the Czech Republic will be Detroit Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek. Mrazek will have a very unique goalie mask during the World Cup of Hockey. His mask takes inspiration from Peter Griffin from Family Guy. The mask was made by Dave Gunnarson of DaveArt.

This is not the first time that Peter Griffin has made an appearance on Mrazek’s mask. He often wears a mask that features Griffin as RoboCop. Mrazek has also worn masks that have Griffin as Santa Claus and as Superman but this mask might take the cake for his best one yet.

There are countless things to love about this mask. The detail on Griffin’s face and body build are flawless. Any Family Guy fan would immediately recognize that as Peter. There’s also the remarkable background. The CN Tower is on the mask and it’s very spot on. Fighter jets and bombers in the background (one for each team in the tournament) are a perfect fit.

What’s most remarkable about the mask is the amount of detail given to Griffin’s King Kong costume. It almost looks like it was custom made for him, stitching and all. The Czech Republic flag is a very nice touch as well.

At this point, fans can assume that Mrazek is a huge fan of Family Guy’s main character. Mrazek has chosen a very unique canvas to express his love for the show. It doesn’t matter how Mrazek does in the tournament because he’ll win the award for “best goalie mask” hands down. He recently signed a two-year deal with the Red Wings.
