Out of Major League Baseball’s six divisions, only two races are worth watching as the month of September approaches. The American League East and the National League West are the only two still up for grabs, and in the West, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants should be locks to make the playoffs regardless of who claims the division title.

That leaves the AL East as the only division race that could have a major impact on the playoff picture this year.

As the standings currently sit, the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles are separated by only one game. The Jays and Sox are in first place, with the O’s holding on for dear life to the second wild-card spot. With these three teams essentially playing .500 ball against each other all year, it’s going to be a wild finish.

So, let’s dig in deeper and take a look at the best pennant race in baseball this year.
