Right before the 2016 NFL season begins, the Los Angeles Rams have locked up one of their most versatile threats

The 2016 NFL regular season is just a few weeks away from getting started, and the Rams are looking to make a mark once again in the city of Los Angeles as they make their return. As we all know, in Los Angeles you want all the star power on your team that you can get, and the Rams have a bright young star in wide receiver Tavon Austin.

Well, it looks like Austin will be taking up residence in Los Angeles a little longer, and he’ll have a little more money in his pockets to spend in the City of Angels as well.

It was announced on Saturday that Austin and the Rams have agreed on a four-year extension that will pay the former West Virginia Mountaineers standout $42 million. The guaranteed money on the contract is $30 million, and with incentives, he could see $52 million by the end of the deal.

After a stellar career at West Virginia, Austin was drafted No. 8 overall by the then St. Louis Rams, with the hopes that he could become one of the most versatile threats in all of the league. So far, it looks like they have the star they wanted on their hands. Last season, Austin finished with 473 yards and five touchdowns receiving, as well as 434 yards and four touchdowns rushing.

Just getting back to Los Angeles, the Rams will look to do whatever they have to to keep some of their biggest stars. They kept a promising one on Saturday with this Austin extension.
