Tony Romo breaks bone in back: Twitter reacts

The news of another serious injury for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has sent the Twittersphere into many emotions.
Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo suffered a more serious preseason injury than initially thought. Romo was diagnosed to with a broken a bone in his back as was revealed by an MRI that was taken.
The injury came on a play against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. It was just the third play of the game. A scrambling Romo got hit from behind by Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril.
Romo laid on the ground in visible pain before coming to the sidelines and his day coming to an abrupt end.
Romo initially came off the field due to the coach’s decision. By all indications, including Romo’s own, he seemed fine after the play. Romo reportedly even asked if he could return to the game. Lucky for him and his team he did not, as it could have made the injury more serious than it is.
As one might imagine, reactions were somewhat shocked and surprised. There were also some Twitter users who are just getting familiar with the whole Romo getting injured thing.
Some fans are suggesting that maybe it’s time for Romo to call it quits. One went so far as to suggest picking up golf instead of football.
Of course, the Twitter videos are also popping up, wishing Romo the best. Some were quite sentimental about the whole injury.
Despite some fans feeling sadness, or joy, over the injury, others are seeing the possibilities.
The current prognosis has Romo said to possibly come back to play for Dallas around mid-season. That’s a “best case” scenario for the team. In Romo’s mind, his best case scenario will probably be consulting with doctors to determine if he should come back.

It could mean another aspiring quarterback will take over the leader role. The Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott during the latest NFL draft. He has impressed during his preseason outings and just might get consideration. So even with Romo down, the Cowboys may still have hope.
