Rounding up the biggest news and notes from Saturday’s NFL preseason action and what it means for your fantasy football team.

We had it all in Saturday’s six game slate yesterday. There were players who played well, disappointed, surprised and unfortunately got injured.

Some players had their outlooks altered yesterday and with drafts in full effect over the next week, lets dive into what you need to know.

I Like What I See

Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin (5 receptions, 44 yards) continues to be QB Alex Smith‘s go-to guy in their passing offense. Looking to build off last year’s performance when he was a top 15-17 FF WR, he is a good pick at his late-fourth or early fifth round ADP.

Bears RB Jeremy Langford (6 carries, 17 yards) is your friend this season because he will be working with a lot of volume. A backfield that was once thought as a potential timeshare or “hot hand” approach, Langford will log a vast majority of the snaps and touches. In the sixth or seventh round, he should easily outperform his ADP.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (11/16, 94 yards) had a good game but more importantly, he looked healthy.  Currently going undrafted in 10-team leagues, he’s an interesting QB2 in Marc Trestman’s offense.

Ravens WR Mike Wallace (3 receptions, 37 yards) is a burner and finally has a QB with a big arm. His ceiling is higher than that of Steve Smith and Kamar Aiken and could be had with your last pick in 10-team leagues. He’s well worth the price at his ADP.

Lions WR Marvin Jones (3 receptions, 25 yards) was once again favorited by QB Matthew Stafford. In the eighth round, he has good upside.

Colts WR Donte Moncrief (6 receptions, 58 yards) will undoubtedly breakout as long as QB Andrew Luck stays healthy. Target him at his fifth-sixth round ADP.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton‘s (3 receptions, 38 yards) fantasy production will hinge on Luck’s health. If he plays all 16 games, Hilton will outperform his third-fourth round ADP.

Eagles TE Zach Ertz (5 receptions, 25 yards) is in a good position with the Eagles new offense and QB Sam Bradford who loves to check down. If you want to wait on the TE position, Ertz can be your starter despite going in the 10th.

  • Eagles RB Ryan Mathews (3 carries, 31 yards) will finish the preseason averaging 6.4 YPC on 10 carries. His injury concerns are built into his sixth round ADP so feel free to draft him there.

Jets RB Matt Forte (12 touches, 37 yards) had a so-so game but if his only game of the preseason is any indication of how this season is going to go, he is will see a lot of touches. He’s a good pick in the fourth-fifth round range.

Jets WR Eric Decker‘s (1 reception, 22 yards, 1 TD) fantasy value depends a lot on his ability to score touchdowns. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick likes him near the redzone so he should be okay. His fifth-round ADP is where it should be.

Titans RB DeMarco Murray (8 carries, 40 yards, 1 TD) averaged 5.0 YPC and scored a touchdown in two out of three preseason games. He should see around 240 touches this year as long as he stays healthy. He’s a good pick as long as you stick to his ADP at the end of the fifth round.

Titans RB Derrick Henry (13 touches, 57 yards, 1 TD) is the reason why you can’t reach on Murray in drafts. If you don’t land Murray in a draft that’s fine by me. However, that’s one more reason you should target Henry in the 9th-10th round.

Titans QB Marcus Mariota (9/16, 170 yards, 20 rushing yards) was once again smart and efficient with the football. There’s a fear RBs Murray and Henry might take many of the Titans touchdowns but he still has a lot of upside as a QB2 in the 12th-13th round.

Titans WR Tajae Sharpe (1 reception, 60 yards) has an outside chance of leading all Titans WRs in receptions and/or receiving yards. As a late-round flier, why not?

Raiders QB Derek Carr (12/18, 169 yards, 2 TDs, 18 rushing yards) had a nice bounce back performance in Week 3. He has good value in the 11th-round and is a player to target if you want to wait on QBs.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper (3 receptions, 52 yards, 1 TD) is the Raiders No.1 receiving option and rightfully so. In the third round, you draft him and you draft him hard.

Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (4 receptions, 63 yards) is too good of a WR to be drafted in the late third or early fourth round range. However, that’s what’s happening. Who cares who is QB is. The situation can’t be much worse than Peyton Manning last year.

Broncos TE Virgil Green (3 receptions, 14 yards, 1 TD) can’t be considered a deep sleeper much longer. If you want to draft a TE early that’s okay. If you want to wait on a TE that’s okay too. Either way, draft Green with your last pick or two.

Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (3 receptions, 45 yards) is being undervalued because of the Broncos QB situation. He’s a solid WR2/3 in the eighth round range.

    Lets Not Panic

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (2 receptions, 18 yards) had just as many drops as he did receptions in this game but no worries. Currently being drafted in the third round, Jeffery is a solid WR2.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford (14/23, 95 yards, 1 INT) had his worse game of the preseason but that’s okay. He’s still a steal in the 12th round and will be a QB1 to open the season.

Giants QB Eli Manning (10/15, 65 yards, 1 INT) had a rough game as did the rest of the Giants offense. If you had plans on drafting him around the ninth round, don’t let this game (or preseason) stop you.

Titants TE Delanie Walker left the game with an illness. There’s little fear about his health and this shouldn’t change any anything about his seventh round ADP.

Raiders RB Latavius Murray (4 touches, 19 yards) had zero yards rushing and saw limited playing time. This isn’t indicative of the Raiders plans for the regular season. His fourth round ADP is on point.

    Maybe We Should Pass

Bears WR Kevin White (1 reception, 3 yards) had a day to forget and his unimpressive preseason might be over with 3 catches for 12 yards. In the ninth round, players like DeSean Jackson and Michael Crabtree are better options.

Lions WR Golden Tate (3 receptions, 29 yards) was once again out-targeted by Marvin Jones. Yet, Tate is being drafted ahead of Jones in a majority of drafts. In the sixth round, you could do better especially if you land Jones in the eighth.

    Injuries

Ravens TE Ben Watson tore his Achilles and will miss the entire 2016 season. The Ravens TE position is congested with a bunch of mediocre talent. Look elsewhere for TE help.

Colts OT Jack Mewhort tore his ACL and will miss the 2016 season. This is a downgrade for RB Frank Gore. Yet, this should not deter you from drafting him in the sixth-seventh round range but not a moment sooner.

Colts CB Darius Butler left the game with an ankle injury. If he misses Week 1, the Colts would be without Butler and their No.1 CB Vontae Davis. You would want to consider targeting a Lions WR in DFS for Week 1.
