There’s a chance that the 2016 Miami Dolphins could be a near-.500 team this season. They have an elite pass rush, a reliable quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, and an offensive genius at head coach in Adam Gase.

Gase is going to make Tannehill a Pro Bowl quarterback within the next two years. The Dolphins are going to go up-tempo, using the South Florida humidity and Tannehill’s dual-threat capabilities to their advantage. Wouldn’t it make sense for Miami to bring in a backup with a similar skill of Tannehill in Kaepernick?

Gase helped Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler have career years in 2013 and 2015, respectively, as their offensive coordinator. He helped bring along Brock Osweiler in Denver. Osweiler now quarterbacks the Houston Texans.

If Gase could out-prepare Manning in the film room, he’s certainly going to be able to develop a game plan for either Tannehill or Kaepernick on fall Sundays. Miami is dysfunctional as a professional football franchise, but Gase seems like the real deal. He may be one of the few coaches that can actually reach intellectually reclusive Kaepernick.
