4. Oakland Raiders

Oakland has not enjoyed a winning season since 2002, when it reached Super Bowl XXXVII and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This year, the Raiders have real hope of not only getting into the postseason but making some noise once there.

Of course, the question has to be asked here: would the Broncos trade Sanchez within the division? Well, if Oakland was willing to give up a draft pick and nobody else was, the answer is probably yes. The Raiders don’t have anything to speak of behind Derek Carr, who has been nicked up throughout his brief career (albeit nothing major).

Carr has Matt McGloin sitting behind him and Connor Cook, a fourth-round rookie, as the third-stringer. The Raiders need to get some insurance behind Carr, should the youngster sustain any kind of injury that sidelines him. Cook has some promise after looking good throughout his four-year career at Michigan State, but he clearly needs some work.

Sanchez would also be a nice mentor for Carr, who has never had a veteran sitting behind him in the quarterback room. While Carr would certainly like to avoid some of the pitfalls in Sanchez’s career, there is valuable knowledge to be gained.
