Mike Zimmer has updated the status of Teddy Bridgewater after suffering an injury in practice on Tuesday
With the NFL regular season quickly approaching here in 2016, the worst-case scenario happened to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. Their regularly scheduled practice was cut short, and it was cut short because quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a non-contact knee injury that people on scene were reporting as pretty serious.
As with all injuries, though, you never really know the extent of it until the team gives an official update, and a short time ago Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer held a news conference with the media. After he spoke for a bit, it’s pretty clear that the situation surrounding Bridgewater at the moment is not promising.
The Vikings head coach noted that his third-year quarterback suffered a “significant” knee injury, but he doesn’t know the full extent of it just yet. The ambulance arrived following the injury and Bridgewater was taken to a local hospital, where he is still being evaluated.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says Bridgewater has “significant” knee injury. Non-contact. Will update more later tonight or tomorrow.

So right now, there is no official diagnosis, as Zimmer stated that we’ll know a little more some time soon whenever the evaluations are done.
This really is a huge blow for the Vikings, as Bridgewater was beginning to look like one of the more promising young stars in the league, and all indications from the preseason thus far were that he was really ready to break through coming up here in 2016. Now, it looks like 2016 won’t even be in the plans for the former Louisville Cardinals star.
As more about the injury to Bridgewater comes to light within the next 24 hours, we will be sure to keep you updated with the latest about the Vikings star.
