WWE rumors: Alberto Del Rio leaving WWE after suspension?
By Matt Couden
The latest WWE rumors may indicate that Alberto Del Rio may officially be done with the company after his 30-day suspension ends.
WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio was one of three wrestling stars who received a 30-day suspension for violating the company’s Wellness Policy. Now it seems that Del Rio may be done with the company even though it’s not his third strike.
A report from WrestleZone on Aug. 30 indicates that Del Rio was officially pulled from all upcoming WWE events. That includes all of the events that were during and after his suspension. Del Rio was suspended by the company on Aug. 17, which effectively has him out past the Smackdown-branded pay-per-view Backlash on Sept. 11.

However, there may be a clause in his clause that allows Del Rio to end his services with WWE before the suspension ends. It’s unknown if Del Rio’s girlfriend, Paige, would also decide to leave, but she is currently on a 30-day suspension as well.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the Mexican superstar and the company parted ways on shaky terms. Back in August of 2014, Del Rio was fired from WWE due to “unprofessional conduct.” That was said to be regarding an incident in which a racist joke was made by a WWE employee. The joke led to an altercation between the employee and Del Rio.
With regards to Paige, she may not have the contract clause that Del Rio has to get out of WWE. So it is being speculated that if Paige wants to leave the company she would have to get fired.
Paige has been off television for some time due to back problems and the suspension was another strike against her. However, she’s been relatively valuable to the company as part of the “Total Divas” show on E! in addition to her women’s wrestling roster spot.
