17. New York Jets

O.J. Howard . 17. player. 30.
The time is coming to face facts for the New York Jets. Try as they might, former 2nd round pick Jace Amaro just isn’t panning out at tight end as they’d hoped. He’s only played 14 games in his career so far, having missed the entire 2015 season with injury.

The Jets had hoped he would become a major target in the passing game like he was at Texas Tech but his body and mind have shown they aren’t ready for the increased speed and physicality of the NFL. Perhaps he may finally get on track this year. Rest assured it is his last chance before the team goes looking elsewhere for help.

They could do a lot worse than O.J. Howard. The Alabama standout was quiet for most of 2015 due to the run-oriented offense he played in, but shined like no other when he torched Clemson for over 200 yards in the national championship game. That was when the country saw what scouts had hinted at for month.

Howard is a true matchup headache. He’s big and tall, able to box out defender for the ball. Yet he also has the loping speed of a basketball player, getting down the field quickly and often proving too much for linebackers and safeties to handle.
. TE. Alabama
