Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky recently attended the Bruce Springsteen concert and met with “The Boss” afterwards.
One boss got to meet another recently, as a Team USA gold medalist met the man responsible for the hit “Born in the USA.” Katie Ledecky was recently at a Bruce Springsteen concert and got to meet the legendary rocker after the show.
Ledecky tweeted a photo of herself standing with “The Boss” after the show. A boss herself, Ledecky held up a gold medal as did Springsteen.
Both were all smiles in the photo.
Ledecky captured a total of five medals at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. She became the new star of Team USA swimming for the women’s side in the process, replacing Missy Franklin. Now she’s getting the celebrity treatment as she enjoys her time after Rio.
Springsteen, age 66, is currently on his Born to Run Tour. The rocker is famous for a variety of well-known hits including “Glory Days,” “Born to Run,” “I’m on Fire,” and of course, “Born in the U.S.A.”
For those wondering how the 19-year-old swimmer got into Springsteen’s music, she said in a 2015 interview that it’s because of her dad. When asked about her musical interests, Ledecky told the USA Swimming website:
"“Oooh. I listen to a variety of things, mostly the current hits and I have a top couple songs. I also like Train, Gavin Degraw – that kind of music. My Dad is a big Bruce Springsteen fan and I have kind of caught on, too.”"
In addition to that, it may be surprising to many people that Springsteen follows Ledecky on Twitter. He has a total of 886,000 followers himself and follows just 38 accounts, including the Olympics star.
