The very popular Horde mode is back in Gears of War 4, and it’s better and ever.
One of the most popular third-person shooter franchises of all time, Gears of War, is one of the many reasons why the Xbox is so successful. Epic Games has delivered countless critically acclaimed games in the franchise, starting with Gears of War in 2006. Gears of War 2 was released in 2008, Gears of War 3 in 2011 and most recently, a remastered version of Gears of War was released in 2015, known as the Ultimate Edition.
With Epic Games no longer involved in the development of Gears of War, Rod Fergusson has gone on to create his own studio known as The Coalition in order to develop the next entry in the franchise, Gears of War 4. From all the recent gameplay footage, Gears of War 4 looks absolutely spectacular, both visually and in terms of gameplay. We got a taste of the online multiplayer earlier this year with the beta, but the other two very promising modes, campaign and Horde, will also be making a return.
On Thursday, a brand-new trailer for Horde 3.0 was released by the official Xbox YouTube page and it looks better than ever.
In the new Horde, the mode will be returning with its traditional five player co-op feature, along with new characters to choose from, new skills and many new abilities. From the looks of the trailer, there’s a lot to look forward to with this new mode and it’s going to be an absolute blast playing it with some friends.
Now that Gears of War 4 will have a cross play feature with Windows PC, Xbox One players around the world will be able to play the game with PC gamers, which is a tremendous feat.
Gears of War 4 launches on October 11, 2016, exclusively on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC’s.
