During a Nintendo Direct on Thursday, Nintendo announced that a version of Super Mario Maker will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

Last year, Super Mario Maker revolutionized the Super Mario series with Super Mario Maker, wherein the player has the complete freedom to customize and create levels from a variety of games from the series, including Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Since then, over 7.2 million courses have been created, with the custom courses being played over 600 million times. Super Mario Maker caught everyone by surprise and those who have a Nintendo Wii U were lucky enough to play this game.

If you don’t have a Wii U, however, try not to fret. On Thursday, during a Nintendo Direct, it was revealed Super Mario Maker will be releasing on the Nintendo 3DS.

The Game of the Year nominee will now allow players to play on the go. Feeling creative on a long road trip? Bored on the bus? You can purchase Super Mario Maker on the 3DS and customize some levels to your liking.

Also, if you’ve already put in countless hours into Super Mario Maker on the Wii U, worry not: All of your saved data — including levels you’ve created, levels you’ve downloaded, and the rest of your progress — will be accessible on the 3DS version. Which is amazing.

The Super Mario series is one of the most innovative video game franchises in history. You can even make the case that Mario is the de-facto face of the video game industry itself. Without him, video games wouldn’t be where they are, and with Super Mario Maker, the franchise has created yet another concept that introduces an entirely new way to play the series.
