Christian McCaffrey was not going to be denied a pay dirt versus the Kansas State Wildcats, as he ran for a 35-yard touchdown for his first score of 2016.

The Stanford Cardinal just might have themselves the best playmaker in college football this season in junior running back Christian McCaffrey. The 2015 Heisman finalist gets into the end zone for his first pay dirt of 2016: a 35-yard touchdown run versus the Kansas State Wildcats.

Stanford was already up 10-0 on Kansas State at the halfway point of the second quarter. McCaffrey had previously been denied an unbelievable 96-yard punt return for a touchdown thanks to a Stanford block in the back.

McCaffrey had to wait roughly a quarter before getting into the end zone for the first time in 2016. He was just too quick and shifty for the Wildcats defense to handle on this zone read.

On second and three, McCaffrey briefly runs to his left before breaking a Kansas State linebacker’s ankles near the first done marker. His cut to the right left the Wildcats with absolutely no chance of catching him before he went into the end zone for the touchdown.

This first touchdown for McCaffrey this season put Stanford up 17-0 after the completed point after attempt. McCaffrey might be the most electrifying player in the Power 5 this season. Though he’s not going to be a team with his arm, his breakaway and undeniable agility will make him a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft should he leave Stanford a year early.
