You can argue the order or some of their individual attributes, but FIFA 17 has probably picked the right three men as its top three players.

It’s not going to be very difficult to figure out who the top rated players in FIFA 17 are if you’re a fan of the beautiful game. The guess is you’ll get two of them right away, and possibly all three.

There’s nothing controversial about who the EA Sports team picked or how good they are in the upcoming game. The order might raise a bit of an eyebrow, but these three players are so close together it doesn’t matter all that much except for bragging rights (and the number one guy seems like that might be important to him).

Let’s end the suspense right now …

Cristiano Ronaldo – 94 overall

Ronaldo gets the nod as the top overall player in FIFA 17, an honor we’ve no doubt he believes he deserves. With a blistering combo of 92 Pace and 92 Shooting, he should be devastating.

Lionel Messi – 93 overall

Props to EA for using this bearded, slightly blonder picture of Messi. No one would dispute his lower Pace and Shooting ratings compared to Ronaldo, though Messi’s are still plenty good. A worse defender though? Interesting. Anyway, that 96 Dribbling should be amazingly fun to put to use.

Neymar – 92 overall

Fresh off his triumphant gold medal-winning performance in the Olympics, Neymar takes only the slightest of back seats to Ronaldo and Messi. He’s almost as fast as the former and as good a dribbler as the latter, and check out his five-star weak foot and skill move ratings.

The remainder of the top 50 players in FIFA 17 have already been revealed, and you can review them on the game’s official site. The debate over all the ratings can rage on until the game’s release, which will be on September 27 in North America and two days later for the rest of the world.
