All-time return touchdown leader, Devin Hester, worked out for the Baltimore Ravens Friday morning.

It seems like the Baltimore Ravens are fed up with their return man situation as they reportedly worked out Devin Hester Friday morning:

This report comes on the heels of a game that saw current kick returner, Michael Campanaro, struggle mightily. On one return, Campanaro had trouble catching the kick then proceeded to fumble the ball on the return:

Not surprisingly given the cutthroat nature of the NFL, the Ravens have brought in some competition. It’s not just any competition either, it’s the all-time NFL record holder for touchdown returns.

Hester played the last two seasons for the Atlanta Falcons where he saw a total of 80 combined punt and kick returns and was only able to return one for a touchdown. He played just five games in 2015 and was eventually released in July after missing all of the Falcons offseason work due to a toe injury. Back in July, Hester told ESPN that teams were already seeking him out, but he was going to wait until he was fully healthy. “Teams already have tried to sign me, but I’m not ready to go,” Hester said. “We told teams that I’m not ready to practice, still rehabbing.”

It seems as though Hester is now ready to make himself available. The Ravens wouldn’t be getting the Hester we saw with the Chicago Bears, but he’s still a player who has a can provide speed in the return game. Just check out the Instagram video that Hester posted a week ago:

So long as the Ravens don’t have extreme expectations for Hester, he could be a good add for a team that is having issues returning kicks. Maybe we can see one more return from the all-time great that will have us re-living the glory days.
