He doesn’t seem like a guy destined to go down in the annals of Star Wars history, but he’s a character from Rogue One nonetheless.

The wait for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is getting to be interminably long. Not The Force Awakens long, mind you, but enough to leave fans chomping at the bit.

The developers on EA’s hit mobile game, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, are doing their part to ease the pain. This week’s update introduces the first character from Rogue One, and he’s available as a reward this month simply for logging in enough days to collect his shards.

The Scariff Rebel Pathfinder is the character in question, and he’ll also be part of a new in-game event. Here are some details from EA, via the official Galaxy of Heroes forum:

The monthly login character for September will be the all-new unit “Scarif Rebel Pathfinder” from the upcoming Rogue One movie. In concert with that, there will be an event requiring a Rebel team that players can play once per day to get an additional shard of this character. Completing the event each day for the month (30-day event) and completing all logins will give enough shards to get the character to 3 stars.

Seems pretty clear. Log in every day this month and play the event daily and you’ll have a Rebel about halfway to being useful in your regular squad. And the floodgates are probably really going to open for Rogue One characters as we get closer to its December release.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is a free download you can grab from either the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android.
