The BYU Cougars will meet the Arizona Wildcats at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale for an exciting Week 1 matchup on Saturday night at 10:30 PM ET.
Week 1 of the 2016 college football season will be one for the ages. There are so many fantastic non-conference matchups against strong programs, it’ll be hard to catch them all on Labor Day Weekend.
For the folks on the West Coast, one of the better games on the slate has to be the neutral-site game between the independent BYU Cougars and the Pac-12’s Arizona Wildcats. This game will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona at 10:30 PM ET on Saturday night. BYU enters the game as a slight three-point favorite over Arizona. The Cougars are pushing for a Big 12 invitation in 2016, along with most notably the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Houston Cougars.
This will be first year BYU won’t have Bronco Mendenhall as its head coach. Mendenhall left Provo after 11 seasons to go coach the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC. Can new head coach Kalani Sitake keep BYU as one of the best non-Power 5 teams in the country in 2016?
Arizona will probably be a middle of the pack team in the Pac-12 under head coach Rich Rodriguez. Can Rodriguez’s Wildcats get off to a fast start in 2016 with a big win over favored BYU?
