Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts threw an absolute bomb to receiver ArDarius Stewart for a touchdown against USC.
The Alabama Crimson Tide came into the season not knowing who their quarterback was going to be. With Jake Coker having left for the NFL, the Crimson Tide had a competition between Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts. While Barnett got the start, it was Hurts who flashed for the Crimson Tide.
With USC up by three and holding the defensive advantage over the Tide, Hurts finally got them on the board. With an absolute cannon for an arm, Hurts found ArDarius Stewart running down the sideline and was able to find him into the end zone for a huge touchdown. The score put the Crimson Tide on the board and finally gave the lead.
For the Tide, they’re looking for a quarterback that will seize the job. Hurts came in and the offense began to show some flow. The fact that he has a strong arm and can get out on the move gives him a huge advantage. The USC secondary was doing a great job shutting of passing lanes in the first half.
That’s why Hurts did a great job recognizing when his spot opened up. The fact that he executed gave the Crimson Tide a nice start to finally get the ball rolling on the night.
