Nick Chubb comes through in the clutch for the Georgia Bulldogs with a 55-yard touchdown run late in Week 1’s game versus the North Carolina Tar Heels.

When Georgia Bulldogs junior running back Nick Chubb is healthy, all he does is rush for over 100 yards a game. He missed half of the 2015 NCAA season after tearing multiple ligaments in his knee in Knoxville back in early October.

Week 1 against the North Carolina Tar Heels at a neutral site in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, Chubb got back to basics and rushed for over 200 yards on North Carolina. His most impressive run came late in the fourth quarter, when he ran to the right for a 55-yard pay dirt to put Georgia up 33-24 after the point after attempt.

Chubb was consistently gaining yardage all Saturday evening, but didn’t break one for a massive gain until the four-minute mark inside of the fourth quarter. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart put redshirt senior quarterback Greyson Lambert back in over true freshman Jacob Eason to execute the four-minute offense.

On a first and 10 on their own 45-yard line, Chubb sprinted to the right. Once he got the first series of blocks on the sweep, he was off to the races. The North Carolina secondary did a respectable job of keeping pace with Chubb, but he was able to get into the end zone on his own accord.

The touchdown had to be reviewed, as Chubb was very close to stepping out of bounds at the North Carolina two-yard line. There was not enough evidence to overturn the touchdown, so Chubb’s second touchdown of the day stood to give Georgia a multi-score lead late in the ball game.
