Twitter reacts to Minnesota Vikings trading for Sam Bradford
Here are some of the best reactions of the Sam Bradford trade from Twitter.
The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly traded for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. It remains to be seen what the Vikings will be giving up, but the price tag reportedly includes a first round pick in next year’s draft. The Vikings were forced into a corner after the injury to Teddy Bridgewater. Because of Bridgewater’s relatively cheap contract, the Vikings knew that they could afford to pay a hefty salary cap price for a backup.
Trading for Bradford could be a wise decision by the Vikings. They clearly need a starting quarterback not just for this season, but potentially for next season as well. Bradford represents a solid backup option to Bridgewater. He has a similar skill set to Bridgewater, so the Vikings don’t have to change much about their offense.
The Eagles get a bit lucky, as the Bradford contract was criticized. Bradford reportedly demanded a trade after they drafted Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. With Bradford gone, Chase Daniel will likely be the starter for the Eagles short-term. Wentz probably isn’t ready to handle a starting job yet.

Bradford is not as good as Bridgewater. That said, everybody knew that the Vikings needed a quarterback. It’s hard to trade for a quarterback and not give up a huge price in that scenario. Now Bradford will be reunited with his former Oklahoma Sooners teammate Adrian Peterson in Minnesota. They were teammates in 2007. Will the tandem work? That remains to be seen.
Twitter obviously reacted quite harshly to this trade. They already love clowning on the Eagles and the Vikings, so the reactions were priceless. Here are some of the best ones.
The Eagles did well in this trade. They got a first round pick for a quarterback that they probably didn’t want anyway. The Vikings got a decent starting quarterback who might help them win the division.
