New Texas A&M Aggies starting quarterback Trevor Knight heaves a fantastic touchdown pass to his wideout Josh Reynolds for a 40-yard score vs. UCLA.

Knight transferred to Texas A&M after losing the Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback job to Baker Mayfield in 2015. He had played significantly for Bob Stoops in 2014, but has now found a new home in College Station playing for Kevin Sumlin.
Knight runs a zone read to get the Bruins defense to bite before running briefly to his right. This run fake had the Bruins secondary bite considerably, allowing Reynolds to be in one-on-one coverage near the UCLA goal line.
Reynolds wisely created separation at the goal line by going to his left to come down with the impressive 40-yard touchdown completion to put Texas A&M up 23-9 before the point after attempt.
Many didn’t know what to make of the Aggies this season. Were they going to be a force in the SEC or where they going to be middle of the pack in the deep SEC West? With many teams in the SEC looking unimpressive on Saturday, a big upset win at home over UCLA could get the Aggies into the AP Top 25 in Week 2.

Knight is one of the more experienced passers in the SEC. That should be huge in the Aggies’ on-field success this season. He may be new to College Station, but Knight is ready to play after riding pine behind Mayfield at Oklahoma last season.
