Keys to Victory
While all eyes will be on Josh Rosen, the key to this came is UCLA’s defensive line not letting the pass rush to get to Rosen. The Aggies are great at getting to the quarterback from the EDGE spots and that means that Rosen could be on the move a little bit.
What else would help the Bruins is if their trio of running backs could take the pressure off Rosen and open up the field a little bit. The Bruins have done a great job of running the ball in the past and have the guys to get the job done.
For the Aggies, it’s all about finding wide receiver Christian Kirk. If Trevor Knight can find one of the best receivers in the country, it’s going to be a long day for UCLA. Kirk can break the game open in a matter of minutes with his speed.
Betting Odds
The Texas A&M Aggies are slight three-point favorites at home. With Rosen set to have a big year for the Bruins and the Aggies not boasting the strongest roster, taking UCLA and the three points isn’t a bad option. A three-point dog on the road typically means that the road team has a great chance of winning.
Prediction
This UCLA team is very talented. Right now, the Aggies are trying to pick up the pieces of what’s left of their roster, while the Bruins are expected to take that next step. Rosen is the real deal and he has a complete team around him.
It’s going to be a close game all day, but the Bruins are going to make the plays late to win. The Aggies will get to Rosen a couple of times, but it will make him better as the game goes on. Look for him to find Kenneth Walker III for some quick touchdowns. The Bruins will pull away late on the road for the big win.
Pick: UCLA 27, Texa A&M 21
