The Ole Miss Rebels are making a mockery of the Florida State defense in the first half Monday night, as Akeem Judd’s TD run extended their lead, 28-6.

For Florida State, they may want to forget Monday night. Coming into the game as the fourth-ranked team in the nation, the Seminoles were expected to win their opening game against 11th-ranked Ole Miss. However, quarterback Chad Kelly has dominated early on, and the score is starting to get out of hand.

Kelly has hooked up with three of his receivers for scores, as his third touchdown pass of the first half gave the Rebels a 21-3 lead. Apparently his running back also wanted to do some damage, as he tries to upstage Florida State’s Heisman candidate Dalvin Cook. Akeem Judd waited until later in the first half to get on the board, but he hit paydirt to extend the Ole Miss lead.

On a 2nd-and-10, Judd took a handoff from Kelly and raced 11 yards for the Ole Miss touchdown. The touchdown gave the Rebels a 28-6 lead, and they are starting to build what could be an insurmountable lead. It was a nice smooth run from Judd, who has been solid in the first half.

Take a look at the Rebels first rushing touchdown of the season.

Judd is a pretty solid back, and showed some nice moves on the  touchdown run. He has carried the ball six times for 40 yards in the game so far, and will likely get a bigger load in the second half if Ole Miss can hang on to the lead. They will eventually  turn to the run, as they limit the amount of times Florida State can get the ball in Cook’s hand.

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher is going to have to make some serious adjustments at the half if he wishes to get back into this game. There have been a few Top-5 teams that have lost during the first week of the college football season, and the Seminoles might be next.
