Ole Miss star quarterback Chad Kelly found Damore’ea Stringfellow early against Florida State with a four-yard touchdown pass to take the lead
The Ole Miss Rebels enter the 2016 college football season having lost a ton of talent from last year. Seeing first-round talents like Laquon Treadwell, Laremy Tunsil, and Robert Nkemdiche all leave is a huge blow to any program. However, the Rebels are expected to still be in the thick of the SEC. And that’s largely due to what their star quarterback in Chad Kelly showed last season. However, he’d need to be at his best right away against the Florida State Seminoles on Monday night.
Luckily for the Rebels, he was on that level right away. After driving over 70 yards already and going 3-4 for 55 yards, Kelly had nothing but the end zone in mind. There was nothing fancy about the route that Damore’ea Stringfellow ran from the outside into the middle of the field. However, Chad Kelly threw a bullet right where only his man could get it. Stringfellow did just that with an incredible catch. He brought it down for a four-yard touchdown to put Ole Miss ahead of FSU 7-0:
Chad Kelly looks like he never took a down off this offseason. The best part if you’re Ole Miss is that this isn’t all of what he offers. Kelly truly turned heads last season because of his ability as a hard-nosed, tough runner from the quarterback position. So if he’s throwing the ball like this in addition to getting rolling with his legs, he’s going to be hard to beat.

Lucky for the Seminoles, though, Kelly had a bit of a lapse in judgment on the next drive. He stared down a receiver and threw an interception. However, his Rebels still led 7-0 when he committed the turnover.
