Don’t stare at the Oregon Ducks’ new electric lightning yellow jerseys for too long or you might go blind.

The Oregon Ducks have Nike as one of their sponsors. One of the perks of the sponsorship is that Oregon constantly has the most ridiculous uniforms in college football. Their uniforms set a high bar for other teams and the Ducks themselves. Oregon’s new “electric lightning yellow” jerseys, depending on how you look at it, either clear that bar or fall comically short.

Their uniforms will make their debut against the Virginia Cavaliers. If their objective is to make their opponents wish that that were blind, the Ducks have succeeded. The jerseys are extremely unique and loud, even for Oregon. However, the yellow is just too much and is painful to look at.

The black helmets and cleats are a nice look, though. Adorned with a yellow cartoon duck logo, the helmets are probably the best part of the uniform. That cartoon duck resembles an angry Donald Duck. The cleats perfectly match the helmet with its black and yellow scheme.

While the helmets and cleats are fresh, the color scheme of the jersey and pants resemble something from a Devo album cover. They don’t match with the classic black and yellow look of the helmet and cleats. Instead, they feature yellow as their primary color. And it’s not even a pleasant yellow, if there is such a thing. It’s more of a highlighter yellow look. While the splashes of black on the jersey are unique and add something to the look, the yellow is just too much.

Who knows what ridiculous long sleeves the players will wear with these. If any player does, the jerseys will be even more offensive to the eye. You’ve got to hand it to Oregon. They find ways to outdo themselves consistently. Let’s just hope that they don’t find a way to outdo these uniforms.
