Defensive Player of the Week: Florida State DE DeMarcus Walker

The last game of Week 1 did not disappoint, as the Florida State Seminoles overcame a 28-6 deficit late in the second quarter to beat the Ole Miss Rebels 45-34 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Labor Day.

Leading the charge for the Seminoles on the defensive side of the ball was senior defensive end, DeMarcus Walker. Walker had four quarterback sacks on Ole Miss standout Chad Kelly to give the Seminoles some much-needed life to spark the biggest comeback in Florida State history.

Walker had 10 sacks all of his junior season in Tallahassee, but will enter Week 2 of the 2016 college football season with four already against one of the best passers in the Power 5 in Kelly.

Florida State was able to generate some offense behind redshirt freshman quarterback Deondre Francois in the second half. Had it not been for Walker leading the Seminoles defense, this could very well have been a blowout victory for the Rebels in Week 1. Walker was absolutely sensational as a pass rusher in this one.
