10. San Diego Chargers

13.
No doubt losing Eric Weddle is going to prove a problem for the Chargers defense. They may have made the decision based on sound financial reasons, but replacing somebody of that caliber is almost impossible. Not without a significant investment in the draft.

They did not go that route in 2016, perhaps hoping to see what Jahleel Addae and Dwight Lowery can do. All things being equal, the odds are not in their favor. Neither has shown the same capacity for playmaking and leadership Weddle did.

This means San Diego may have to find their solution in 2017. If that solution ends up being Jamal Adams, then they can hold their heads high on their decision. In terms of sheer physical skill, this LSU product is superior to what Weddle brought.

He also showcased lots of instinct, especially when he’s playing downhill. He can sniff out screen passes and isn’t afraid to deliver a big hit. Add in a 6-foot-1, well-built frame and enough speed to make plays in coverage and it’s a solid, solid pick for the Chargers. He’ll give their back end some bite.
. S. LSU. Jamal Adams . 10. player
