20. Oakland Raiders

ILB. Florida. Jarrad Davis . 20. player. 28.
Is Ben Heeney their long-term answer at middle linebacker? This is a question the Oakland Raiders know they can’t avoid forever. On the plus side he is a tough, determined and intelligent player who can offer a steadying presence. Then again there are also athletic limitations to what he can do and he has an injury history on top of that.

Worse still they don’t have the greatest depth at that position either. Give how important it is to making the entire defense go, there is no shame in the Raiders looking to bolster and maybe upgrade the position.

More speed would be the primary reason they seek a replacement. Jarrad Davis has shown at Florida that he has plenty to offer in that department. He’s a maestro in the box, flowing sideline to sideline racking up tackles at a healthy clip.

There is still some learning to do. Davis left a number of big plays on the field he should’ve but couldn’t make. Once he figures that out, the sky is the limit for how good he can be. Whether it’s in Oakland or elsewhere, he’d be a fixture at the center of an exciting young defense.
