26. Green Bay Packers

Ethan Pocic . 26. player. 49.
By far one of the biggest surprise decision of 2016 was the Green Bay Packers cutting ties with Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton. Citing a disagreement on money for a new contract, the team felt it was best to move on despite Sitton making the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons.

While such business decisions are nothing new for the Packers, it does leave a considerable void in their interior blocking. Besides, it’s not like their pass protection was ideal last year anyway. Can Lane Taylor, a former undrafted free agent really solve the problem?

Unlikely. Odds are GM Ted Thompson will have to seek out help in the next draft. Preferably somebody who could play right away. Coming from a proven program like LSU, Ethan Pocic fits those requirements. His big, burly frame is a force for the Tigers ground attack.

Technique is something the coaches harp on there, so he’s more polished than other guards are. Add in the fact he’s agile enough to play center as well makes him a solid choice for the Packers. They also have lingering concerns at that position too.
. OG. LSU
