1. #7 Stanford Cardinal (1-0), Last Week: Win vs Kansas State 26-13

On Friday night, the Stanford Cardinal opened up their 2016 schedule against the Kansas State Wildcats. Kansas State put up a nice effort, but in the end, there was just too much Christian McCaffrey for the Cardinal. Stanford led the entire way, but the game was a bit too close for comfort at some points.

With about eight minutes left in the second quarter, the game looked like it was headed for blowout status. After McCaffrey scored his first touchdown of the 2016 season, Stanford led Kansas State 17-0, and was dominating on offense and defense. The Wildcats would get a field goal prior to the half, and then added another one for the only scoring in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats actually made it a one-score game with 2:20 left in the game, but McCaffrey ended any chance of a Week 1 upset. The running back broke loose for a 41-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, giving Stanford a 26-13 lead. That would be all the team needed, as the team will now head to a bye week at 1-0.
