The latest Steelers at Redskins odds, trends and other information ahead of their 2016 NFL Week 1 meeting in Landover, Maryland.

With Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season underway, there will be a doubleheader for Monday Night Football. Leading the way for the two games will be a meeting featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Redskins at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.

For this matchup, Odds Shark lists the Redskins as three-point home underdogs. The over/under points total will be hovering around 50-1/2 points for the complete game in this Monday night matchup.

At home, Washington is 5-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last nine games. The Steelers have been 4-3-3 ATS on the road for their last 10 games.

These two teams from opposite conferences have met five times since 1997. Their most recent meeting came back on Oct. 28, 2012, with Pittsburgh winning at home 27-12. In terms of the head-to-head recordĀ over these last five games, the Steelers are 5-0 straight up and 3-2 against the spread. The points total has gone under the number in all five games.

Pittsburgh has averaged 20.8 points per game in the five meetings compared to just 8.2 points per game for the Redskins. The Steelers have also averaged more yards overall per game with 290.2 while Washington has averaged 251.4 per game. Pittsburgh has been able to hold onto the ball much better in their meetings, with just 0.6 turnovers averaged. The Redskins have averaged 2.2 turnovers per game in the five meetings.

While the personnel has changed in the five meetings since 1997, the majority of the games saw double-digit wins in favor of one team. Only the 1997 game was decided by a point, with Pittsburgh winning 14-13. The other four games were decided by an average of 15.5 points and all were in favor of the Steelers.

This will be the only meeting between these teams from opposing conferences in the 2016-17 NFL season. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday night at FedExField.
