ESPN’s College GameDay crew is heading to Louisville next week for the ACC showdown between No. 3 Florida State and the No. 13 Cardinals.
Louisville is 2-0 thanks in large part to the ridiculous play of quarterback Lamar Jackson and ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance for his next magic trick or two.
Card Chronicle has confirmed that ESPN’s premier college football program will be heading to Louisville host the show on Sept. 17 for the Cardinals’ showdown with Deondre Francois and the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles.
This will be the first time Louisville has hosted GameDay for football.
It’ll be weird to see GameDay taking place in a city for a game at Noon ET, but the game isn’t any less important. By the end of Week 2, this game could be between two top-10 teams. The Seminoles trail only conference rival Clemson and Alabama for the top spot in the polls. Louisville sits just out of the top 10 teams in the AP Poll, but after a convincing 62-28 win on Friday night over Syracuse, they might get another boost in the poll.
This will certainly be one of the best games in Week 3 of the season and if Jackson continues to dominate with his play, the ‘Noles could be in some serious trouble on the road. If the Heisman Trophy was handed out before Sept. 17’s game, Jackson would probably be the unanimous winner.
He’s been that good.
Who could be the “Celebrity Guest Picker”?
Every week, College GameDay has a “Celebrity Guest Picker” to help the guys pick the game results. They’ll be in Louisville for this huge early season showdown, so who could represent the city?
How about Russ Smith, the former Louisville guard who helped lead the Cards to the 2013 title in men’s hoops? What about Laila Ali, the daughter of Louisville’s own Muhammad Ali?
Wait, I’ve got this one: Papa John himself.
