That gave West Ham a two goal lead, which has subsequently been cancelled out by Watford forwards Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, who scored a quick couple of goals to finish the first half.
Still, West Ham manage Slaven Bilic will be delighted to see his star player playing so well. He offers the Hammers a totally different dimension in attack when he’s on form, and he provides moments of magic like the one above that few players in the world can replicate.
In fact, Payet’s teammate, Manuel Lanzini, tried a rabona of his own a few minutes before Payet. It did not go quite as smoothly.

The second half should be a thriller. Watford are a dangerous team with Ighalo and Troy Deeney up front, and the timing of their goals will give the Hornets plenty of momentum heading into the second half. Both of these teams could use the points.

Watford were stuck on one point heading into this game, and could use a win to kickstart their season. West Ham, meanwhile, won one and lost two of their opening three games. Another win against Watford would set them up well as they attempt to finish in the European places for the second season in a row.
The second half has just started. Watford have the momentum, but West Ham have Payer. It should be a good one.
