Clemson and Georgia looked bad on Saturday. Tennessee, Florida State and Ohio State all looked strong. What will the Top 25 look like after Week 2?

Most people in the college football world projected Week 2 of the schedule to be one of the weaker ones of the year.

After an exciting Week 1 that saw two top-5 teams fall, Week 2 saw some close calls, but everything went according to plan for just about everyone.

Teams like Michigan, Houston and Louisville looked great in Week 2, while Deshaun Watson and Clemson struggled all day against Troy, Georgia had to fend off Nicholls State as a 53.5-point favorite at home and Alabama head coach Nick Saban yelled mean things at Lane Kiffin in a blowout of Western Kentucky.

So, what will the Top 25 look like after Week 2?

CBS Sports’ Chip Patterson projected the Top 25 rankings heading into Week 3 and sees a shakeup in the top 2.

  1. Alabama
  2. Florida State
  3. Clemson
  4. Ohio State
  5. Michigan
  6. Houston
  7. Wisconsin
  8. Stanford
  9. Washington
  10. Louisville
  11. Georgia
  12. Texas
  13. Michigan State
  14. Oklahoma
  15. Iowa
  16. Tennessee
  17. Notre Dame
  18. Ole Miss
  19. Texas A&M
  20. Florida
  21. Baylor
  22. Arkansas
  23. TCU
  24. Oregon
  25. LSU

The poll for the College Football Playoff won’t hit the public until Nov. 1, but until then, the AP Top-25 poll should suffice.

As you can see, Patterson did punish some teams that struggled on Saturday and for good reason. Georgia and Clemson looked awful. TCU hung inside the top-25 after their double-overtime loss to Arkansas.

He has Texas A&M cracking the poll for the first time this season, along with Florida, who absolutely destroyed Kentucky on Saturday in The Swamp.
