WWE Backlash 2016 results: The Usos vs Slater and Rhyno full video highlights

A look at what happened during the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Tournament Finals match at WWE Backlash.

The finals of the SmackDown Tag Team Tournament at WWE Backlash would see Heath Slater and Rhyno face The Usos. Slater and Rhyno’s opponents didn’t get determined until Sunday night, when The Usos defeated The Hype Bros in a “2nd Chance match”. This got put in place after Jimmy and Jey injured Chad Gable on SmackDown.

So, what happened in this match at Backlash?

Slater started the match with momentum and a hot crowd for him. Rhyno got a decent pop for tagging in this match, too.

However, Jimmy and Jey took over on Slater, and grounded him. They would stop him from getting the hot tag to Rhyno, and kept The One Man Band in their corner.

Jey took down Slater with a belly to back suplex, and continued with a long hold on his left arm. A splash and leg drop would only continue things.

Slater finally hit a clothesline and tagged in The Man Beast, who went after Jimmy. Slater then tagged in and hit two big neckbreakers on The Usos. However, he missed a pin attempt. Rhyno gored Jimmy, placed Slater on the fallen Uso, and got the pin.

Heath Slater received a SmackDown contract with this victory. After a free agent storyline that went on for nearly two months, he has joined a brand. Slater is also one half of the inaugural SmakcDown Tag Team Champions. It’s some difference from where he was just two months ago with The Social Outcasts.

This is Rhyno’s first title win in WWE in over one decade, too. He has a belt and is running for office. How about SmackDown Tag Team Champion Rhyno for office?
