Duke Johnson Jr.-RB-Cleveland Browns

One of the often over-rated running backs going into Week 1 was Duke Johnson Jr. of the Browns.  Johnson has a ton of potential, and I’ve touted him as a breakout candidate, but he isn’t there yet and some people had him as a good flex play in week 1–spoiler alert: he wasn’t.

In the end he had three carries for 22 yards and added three catches for 28 more yards.  60 total yards doesn’t make him a total bust, but he lost a lot of touches to Isaiah Crowell including the goal line carry.

If Johnson ever gets the full-time job, he’ll be a good play, but until then don’t overpay for his potential.  He belongs on benches until bye weeks in all formats or until he claims more of the workload in Cleveland.
