ACC Power Rankings, Week 2: Clemson sloppy as FSU, Louisville roll

Don’t look now, but the Yellow Jackets have won their first two games of the season. I mean, the wins were over Boston College and FCS foe Mercer, but they are still wins and count, right? Okay, it’s not the time to pencil them in for a bowl game yet.
Of course the Eagles were going to win this week – they were playing a team that isn’t associated with the ACC. A 19-point win over UMass is something that should be treasured because – well, I guess they are now champions of the Bay State, right?
In the conference’s marquee game of the week, the Hokies jumped out to an early lead against SEC East favorite Tennessee – and then, the second quarter started and Virginia Tech got blown out of the water. Still, points for competition here, so they stay in the middle of the group.
After giving up a big lead in their opener and losing to Georgia, the men in baby blue went up to Big Ten country and left with a big win over the Illini. They may not make it back to the conference title game, but UNC is going to make things interesting this season.
For the first time in 16 years, the Panthers took on their rivals from the Keystone State, the Penn State Nittany Lions. After blowing a big lead, Pitt held on to give the ACC another Power Five win and give them bragging rights over their rivals.
