FanDuel MLB: Picks and Pivots for September 13
Welcome to the Tuesday edition of Picks & Pivots, a daily fantasy baseball column focused on providing analysis and insights into the top FanDuel MLB lineups. The purpose of this column is to first identify key building blocks that can be used for any roster construction and then identify pivot points to help differentiate your lineup in hopes of a big payday!

Tuesday’s MLB schedule kicks off at 7:05PM EST with a full 15 game FanDuel MLB slate!
I will continue to track winning Tournament lineups and compare trends over 5 day periods to help us understand what it takes to remain profitable. I HIGHLY recommend each of you do this each morning to look back on the previous night and understand how the winning lineups are constructed in the games you participate in.

I highly recommend gamers track their game performance across the various types of games they play – GPP’s, Cash, Multipliers etc – as this simple exercise will help teach you more about profitable roster construction than you can imagine.
Next: Who is the top pitching option on Tuesday's Slate?
The Tuesday slate pitching options only have one starter over $10k, but with the upside that Noah Syndergaard ($10,900) presents, this may be a slate where paying up for your starting pitcher is the best course of action.
Over the last 30 days no pitcher on the slate has averaged more point per start than the Mets right-hander, as his 45.4 points per game exceeds the next closest competitor by over 5 points.
Syndergaard has an elite strikeout rate at 29% which is the 4th highest in all of MLB on the season and there is no other starter I believe on Tuesday that can match the upside that Thor possesses each time on the mound.
The match up with the Nationals is a challenging one, so much so that I expect gamers will shy away which may lead to lower than expected ownership for Syndergaard.
The Mets have been one of the hottest teams in baseball the last few weeks and with their lone healthy young stud on the mound, I expect Syndergaard to put up a dominant outing that far exceeds the point totals from any other pitcher on the late, making his salary worth the investment!

Mike Trout ($4,000) against Taijuan Walker: Listen, I will be the first to tell you that i am not the biggest proponent of BvP but sometimes you look over the statistics and can’t help but utilize the numbers to identify DFS targets. We do not need BvP to know that Mike Trout is an elite talent however his career numbers versus Walker, 9 for 11 with 3 HR’s is frankly something we cannot afford to overlook and Trout will be a must play in all formats on Tuesday.
In the same game, do not overlook SS Andrelton Simmons ($2,500) who is averaging 13.4 points per game over the last two weeks which is the highest such average of any shortstop in MLB. Simmons did miss Monday’s game with a hand injury so keep an eye on the lineups to ensure Simmons is back in the lineup on Tuesday.
From a team stacking perspective, similar to Monday, I cannot overlook the Arizona Diamondbacks at home against LHP Jorge de la Rosa. de la Rosa has surrendered a 33% hard contact rate and .351 wOBA to RHB this season and the Arizona RHB’s continue to be under priced which makes them a great stacking option on Tuesday. Welington Castillo ($2,900) & Paul Goldschmidt ($3,700) are clear top options but do not overlook Yasmany Tomas ($2,600) who is 6 for 12 with a HR off de la Rosa in his career.
