A cigar store in Texas has decided to protest the Colin Kaepernick protest by using the San Francisco 49ers star’s jersey as a door man so that his customers can walk all over it.

Whenever Colin Kaepernick decided to use NFL games as his platform to protest the recent strings of fatal police shootings, it was obvious that it was going to become a major topic of interest. It was fated to cause a variety of different opinions.

On one side, there were those who were highly offended by Kaepernick. They felt that the former Nevada star was being disrespectful toward the country and the thousands of people that have served. Obviously, they did not feel that was the right way to protest police brutality.

This cigar store owner in League City, Texas is obviously in that group:

Another side was actually quite supportive towards Kaepernick. They understood that he wanted the public to be more aware of very serious issues that are affecting life outside of football stadiums. Kaepernick used his celebrity status to help bring that additional awareness, as evident by all the headlines that are being generated.

The supportive side has been growing by the day.

Many in the military decided to speak up through social media sites such as Twitter. The support toward Kaepernick actually caused a hashtag to become a worldwide trend for a couple of days. The message was that the Niners backup quarterback, just like everyone else in the country, has a right to exercise his freedom to not stand during the national anthem.

Other NFL players started showing support as well. San Francisco safety Eric Reid decided to join Kaepernick in his protest. The two of them have taken a knee together on the sidelines as their teammates stand on the sideline during the national anthem.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin also showed support to Kaepernick because his entire team started doing so. Others in the NFL are expected to join in during the upcoming weeks.
