SEC releases 2017 college football schedule
By Brad Weiss
The SEC is arguably the best conference in all of college football, and on Tuesday, they released their 2017 football schedule.
The 2017 SEC college football schedule has been released, and it appears there will be some huge games every week during the season. The 14 schools will play a combined 56 SEC games, with the schedule culminating in the SEC Championship Game on December 2. That game will be played in Atlanta, and will feature the champions of each of the conference’s two divisions.
Each team will play a total of eight SEC games, with six divisional contests, and two out of division. The season will kick off on September 2, as all 14 teams will kick off their season in Week 1. Five games will be played at neutral sites, including two of the biggest games including conference teams. Alabama will travel to Atlanta to face Florida State, while Florida and Michigan will meet up in Arlington, Texas.
Throughout the first few weeks of the season, there are going to be some huge matchups. The University of Georgia will travel to South Bend to face Notre Dame in Week 2, and Auburn and Clemson will do battle in Death Valley. In Week 3, Tennessee will travel to Gainseville to face the Gators in an early season SEC East contest.
The action will continue throughout the season, as teams jockey not only for position in the SEC, but also on the national stage. The conference produces the national champion nearly every season, as eight of the last ten national champions have come from the SEC.

The SEC has gotten off to a bit of a rough start in 2016, as only six of the 14 conference schools are 2-0 through the first two weeks of the season. However, Alabama has clearly established themselves as the class of college football once again, and will likely find themselves back in the National Championship Game. The 2017 SEC schedule is slated to kick off in a little under a year, but it is never too early to mark some special games on your calendar.
