9. Myles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M Aggies

Myles Garrett was unstoppable during his days at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, where he recorded 19.5 sacks as a senior while being unanimously considered as the top defensive end prospect in the country. Garrett was also ranked as the second-best player overall in the class of 2014. When he committed to play for Texas A&M, it made him the highest-rated defensive player that the Aggies ever signed.

As a true freshman starter, Garrett broke the Texas A&M freshman record for sacks in only six games, snapping Jadeveon Clowney’s SEC freshman record of eight (in nine games). Garrett ended the season with 11.5 sacks, 53 total tackles, and 14 tackles for a loss, leading him to receive unanimous selections as a Freshman All-American and a Freshman All-SEC member.

Last season, Myles led the SEC with 12 sacks while registering 57 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, and five forced fumbles. His post-season honors included being named to the All-SEC first team. He was also a consensus third team All-American selection.

As it currently stands, Garrett is considered to be a top-three NFL prospect and has a great chance to be the first player selected in the 2017 draft. He is widely thought to be one of the most freakish athletes in the country, a guy whose explosiveness as an edge rusher should earn him stardom in the NFL. If Myles maintains his greatness as a pro, he may break the current mold and become the first DE selection for a Madden NFL cover.
