2. Josh Rosen – QB – UCLA Bruins

Despite being the top-rated QB in the class of 2015, Josh Rosen wasn’t expected to start right away for UCLA. However, that situation would change when Brett Hundley decided to leave for the NFL and the Bruins were left without a definite starter. After a fierce competition between him and Jerry Neuheisel, Rosen would win the job. As a result, he became the first true freshman to start at QB for UCLA.

Nicknamed “The Rosen One”, Josh had an excellent freshman year, finishing the season with 3,349 passing yards for 20 TDs and nine interceptions. He also broke Drew Olson’s school record for most consecutive passes without an INT. Rosen’s 245 consecutive passes with a pick shattered the old record of 199. He would go on to receive Freshman All-American honors and won the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year award.

Rosen won’t be draft eligible until the 2018 NFL Draft. However, he’s already considered to be the best pure passer in the country. He’s even received comparisons to a young Peyton Manning from head coach Jim Mora. Only time will tell if Rosen will achieve everything that Manning has, but he definitely seems to be on the right track.

He should go on to be a top five draft pick and, depending on the talent around him, should shine at the next level. His poise and demeanor have drawn comparisons to Drew Brees and that’s who happens to be the last QB to make the Madden NFL cover. No one should be surprised if Rosen ends up being one of the next ones.
