The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes square off with the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. Here is the start time, the live stream, and three things to know.
In one of the biggest games of Week 3 in college football, the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0) will travel to Norman, Oklahoma to face the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners (1-1) for a 7:30 PM ET kickoff at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. FOX will have the telecast and the available live stream can be found at Fox Sports Go.
Ohio State has looked spectacular in the first part of the season. The Buckeyes might be the best team in the Big Ten and they are 2-0 on the year with blowout wins over the Bowling Green Falcons and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. However, they face a tough first road test against a desperate Oklahoma team.
The Sooners’ non-conference schedule is brutal in 2016. They’ve already lost a neutral-site game to the Group of 5 beast that is the Houston Cougars in Week 1. While Oklahoma came away with a big victory over the ULM Warhawks last Saturday, the Sooners face the harsh reality of maybe starting the season with a 1-2 record. Here are three things to know in this game.
1) A loss in Norman for Ohio State is not going to be a death sentence for the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff chances. It’s bold to schedule a blue-blood like Oklahoma in the non-conference, but Ohio State will not be punished should the Buckeyes lose on Saturday. Ohio State has the head coach in Urban Meyer and the players to potentially go 9-0 in Big Ten play and represent the conference in the third annual College Football Playoff.
2) Not only does a loss to the Buckeyes in Week 3 signify the end of the Sooners’ 2016 College Football Playoff dreams, it crushes any realistic shot of the Big 12 getting any team into the playoff. Oklahoma is still probably the most talented team in the Big 12. The Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the TCU Horned Frogs already have a loss on the year. A loss to Houston isn’t bad, but adding another one to Ohio State is for the 2016 Sooners.
3) This game features two of the best quarterbacks in college football. Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett is playing unencumbered in 2016 with no Braxton Miller or Cardale Jones behind him. Barrett has completed 66% of his passes for 498 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. Oklahoma has a great signal caller in Baker Mayfield who finished fourth in the 2015 Heisman Trophy race. Mayfield has completed 71.7% of his passes for 567 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions.

The Sooners will be getting 2.5 points at home, according to OddsShark.com. This game feels like a certain shootout with the team getting the last possession coming away as the victor. The over/under of 64.5 seems incredibly low in this potential barn burner. It’s hard to not take the points Oklahoma is getting in a do-or-die game at home. This should be one of the best games of the week.
