What do we need to be watching for during Saturday afternoon’s Wisconsin vs Georgia State matchup and when does it start?
Wisconsin might be the hottest team in the Big Ten to start the year. That might surprise some people seeing as Ohio State and Michigan are the highest ranked in the conference as No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in the AP Poll. Wisconsin went from unranked to No. 9 in the matter of two weeks after a big Week 1 win over LSU.
Georgia State is quite the opposite, falling in its first two games of the year to Ball State and Air Force by a combined score of 79-35. The Panthers can’t seem to get anything to go their way, and that might be a recurring theme Saturday afternoon in Madison against one of the best teams in the country.
Here are the three things you should know for the game Saturday.
1. Corey Clement might be an elite running back
Filling the shoes of Montee Ball and Melvin Gordon before him, there are high expectations at the running back position for Corey Clement. The senior running back missed a good portion of his junior year, but looks healthy and poised to make some noise as a senior. He has about 200 yards through his first two games and is a force to be reckoned with.
2. Georgia State’s offense is in trouble
Georgia State has just 441 total yards of offense in two games, that lackluster number really speaks for itself. Wisconsin’s defense is tough and this might be a very long game for the Panthers — most notably the run game.

3. Bart Houston still needs to prove himself
The first-year starting quarterback hasn’t proven much in his first two games as coaches still don’t know what to think of Joel Stave’s replacement. Bart Houston is averaging about 218 yards and a touchdown per game while completing 64 percent of his throws. Is he going to be a more effective passer than Stave or will the offense be run-heavy yet again?
