10. Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings are one of the NHL’s best teams. They are also one of the league’s original six teams, so they’ve been around for a long time. And, as we have seen on this list already, history means fans.

The Red Wings finished third in attendance last season with 20,027 fans per home game, and their arena is always rocking. Red Wings fans rank among the best in hockey because of their dedication to show up every night to the Joe Louis arena ready to go.

Detroit has won 11 Stanley Cups with the last one coming in 2008. With players like Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, that success should not come as any surprise. These players are the reason that fans come and watch. The Red Wings will always be known as one of the best franchises in hockey.

Their fans keep games intense and when the stadium is sold out it is an extremely hard place to play. Historically and currently, teams have had trouble playing in Detroit and that will continue as long as they continue to have one of the best fan bases in hockey. That doesn’t seem like changing any time soon.
