23. New York Yankees

The Yankees were established in 1903. Since then, they have built a history that cannot be put into words. The Yanks have won 27 World Series titles and 40 American League pennants. The list of great players to wear the pinstripes feels never ending. Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Derek Jeter, Yogi Berra … to name just a few.

You have not witnessed intensity and passion until you go to a Yankees vs. Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The Yankees rank sixth in MLB in attendance this season with just under 39,000 fans per game. And this is a down year. They are currently playing better baseball, but for most of the season they were mediocre.

The Yankees began to dominate in the 1920s and haven’t looked back since. Even with the Mets just a few miles away, New York City is Yankees country. Despite al the success, Yankees fans never take it for granted and they are always excited to see their team.

The Yankees won the World Series in 2000. Since then, they have only made one appearance in the fall classic. You better believe the fans are going to make the next trip count.
