The No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners will host the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night. Here are five reasons that Oklahoma will upset Ohio State.

One of the marquee games on Saturday’s slate is a Big Ten/Big 12 showdown between the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 14 Oklahoma Sooners. Kickoff is at 7:30 PM ET at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. FOX will have the telecast. The available live stream can be found on Fox Sports Go.

Ohio State is 2-0 on the year with a great shot at winning the Big Ten and the College Football Playoff. Oklahoma sits at 1-1 with a Week 1 loss to the Houston Cougars. The Sooners might still be the best team in the Big 12, but a 1-2 hole would be too much to overcome to get back to the College Football Playoff.

According to OddsShark.com, Oklahoma is a three-point underdog at home to Ohio State. While a Week 1 loss to Houston justifies the point spread, here are five reasons that the Sooners are going to upset the Buckeyes here in Week 3.

5. Oklahoma has been tested this season, Ohio State has not

There is no arguing this: Oklahoma has already been tested once this season and Ohio State has not. Oklahoma played a College Football Playoff hopeful out of the Group of 5 in Houston Week 1 and lost, 33-23. Houston is the No. 6 team in the country and will make the College Football Playoff should the Cougars go undefeated.

Ohio State is 2-0, but the Buckeyes’ two wins are over inferior Group of 5 teams in Bowling Green and Tulsa. The Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 125-13 in the first two weeks, but neither the Falcons or the Golden Hurricane are in the same class at the Cougars Oklahoma went up against.

So how does this help Oklahoma and hurt Ohio State in their head-to-head matchup on Saturday night? It’s only mid-September, but the Sooners have already been in a moments of crisis on the gridiron. Oklahoma has likely learned from its Week 1 gaffes. Ohio State hasn’t been tested thus far.

The Buckeyes are going up against a dangerous Sooners this weekend. For Oklahoma to make the College Football Playoff, the Sooners are going to have to play spoiler to the Buckeyes at home on Saturday night. Their battle scars from Houston have healed. Oklahoma will be ready for this one, whether Ohio State is or not.
