Upset of the Week – No. 14 Oklahoma over No. 3 Ohio State
It was just two weeks ago that both teams were ranked in the top six nationally in both major polls, setting up on a collision course for one of the biggest games of the entire season. A funny thing happened, though: Oklahoma didn’t get the memo about being unbeaten heading into their game against the Buckeyes.
Now, Baker Mayfield and his teammates are in a situation where they need to win out to even have a shot at making the playoff for a second straight year. That being said, it isn’t like they don’t have a shot at pulling off what would now be considered an upset based on rankings.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The Sooners are probably still the better team on paper than an Ohio State group that has looked great statistically — against Bowling Green and Tulsa. That’s not a knock against Urban Meyer’s team, but rather a statement of truth that we don’t know how good this Ohio State team really is.
Playing in Norman with their backs against the wall for the rest of the season makes the Sooners a dangerous team; just dangerous enough to get back into the playoff conversation and, likely, the Top 10 with a win Saturday night.
